2007: A MAN’S ODYSSEY
INSPIRATION
Taken from Stanley Kubrick’s innovative film, 2001: A Space Odyssey, reaching a breaking point with the past and entering the future. Kubrick also represents elegance, perfection and sleekness. Dolce & Gabbana’s Man takes possession of a new planet: himself. In this new territory he acts confident, strong and independent.
FABRICS
Flame-resistant treated nylon, leather plated with precious metals, eel, cashmere, velvet is simple or striped, cotton, wool and stretch denim. For the night: lamè, silk woven with precious metal wires.
COLORS
Classic: white, black, light and dark grey, camel. Metallic: mercury, bronze, brass, copper, gold and silver.
STYLE
Skinny, tight and elongated, low-rise, narrow collars, micro lapels, shrunken ties.
WARDROBE
Cashmere knitwear, sweaters plated with metals, suits with one, two or four buttons, coats single and double breasted, parkas, jackets, metal-coated trenches, skinny pants and jeans. For the night: smoking jackets of silk woven with precious metal wires.
ACCESSORIES
Shoes: pointed and made with innovative materials like patent leather with metal plaques, plain or metallic crocodile. Gold, silver and copper sneakers. Matching belts. Welder’s sunglasses. Shrunken ties.
